Super Happy Funtime Burlesque: Conquers The Nation, Then Holland

Friday, June 12, 8 p.m. doors, 9 p.m. showtime
If you have missed Super Happy Funtime Burlesque lately, then on Friday you will get to hear them locally for the first time in a long while as they wrap up their national tour.

"We are excited to be back in Michigan after a long time on the road," says bandmate Vivacious Miss Audacious (Audria Larsen) who was seen last weekend performing with The Concussions at the 12th Annual Local First Street Party. "This weekend we will be touring the state with a series of shows starting in Holland and then ending in Detroit."

The Detroit show at the awesome Cliff Bell's is a make up date for SHFB as their February show was cancelled due to a blizzard. This tour is a great chance to see our nationally recognized act that has been a finalist at ArtPrize (for ArtPrize: the Musical) as well as one of the only burlesque acts to tour the U.S.

And just a reminder to all those young artists in our city that sometimes playing a small show in a neighborhood bar can lead you to bigger venues. Super Happy Funtime Burlesque incubated their act in the heart of Creston Grand Rapids at The Rezervoir (formerly known as The Sazerac) during a time when booking national theatrical and stunning performance venues (like Cliff Bell's) was only a dream for the local troupe.

Welcome back, Super Happy. We are glad you're back in town. Now, about the 50 states shot glass collection you promised me years ago if you hit it big . . .

Admission: $10.
