Not since the Indigo Girls has there been a women folk band that exhibits such a strong delivery of honey-soaked harmonies than Nervous but Excited. And for one night only, they will pop in to Rumor’s Nightclub for a special event for Speak Equal.

Nervous but Excited is made up of Kate Peterson and Sarah Cleaver, who write most of their own material that they perform on instruments like the guitar, mandolin, violin, harmonicas and, my favorite, the ukulele.

They have spot-on harmonies that I just dare you not to hum along.  If you think this is going to be just another singer/songwriter yawn fest, think again.  This  duo has a great sense of humor, adding choreographed dancing and impressive covers.

Nervous but Excited’s talent has also landed them on the stages with some of the modern greats of folk music, including Ani Difranco, Catie Curtis, Utah Phillips and Cheryl Wheeler.

Attending this intimate venue to see Nervous but Excited could just be your next great “Yeah, but I saw them when” Grand Rapids story.   Opening acts for Nervous but Excited, include Whitney Dawn and Kerri Heartwell.

Admission: $10 Donation at the door.
