Artists Market at Vinecroft Studios — Handcrafted Beauty

A sure sign of a healthy community is the number of artists markets that it supports, and I happy to report that Grand Rapids has more choices for those seeking an original and more “Local First” approach to their Christmas shopping experience than ever before.

Vinecroft Studio is worth the drive not only to see one of Grand Rapids most-community focused studios in our region, but also to purchase amazing handcrafted items from artists like wood craftsman (and local arts royalty) Fred Bivins, potter Rita Shields and debuting this year the exquisite work of printmaker Alynn Guerra.

These artists’ works represent such a wide range of gifts like handmade bowls, vases, woodcut prints and ornaments from a bunch not afraid to roll up their sleeves and get a little dirty in the pursuit of their art.  And most importantly, the gift items one can expect to discover at this annual affair are what I would call “the classics” —  the ones no one can go wrong with when considering a special gift for a family member or a close friend.
