With a first place finish at a national beer tasting competition, Saugatuck Brewing Company joins other regional award-winning breweries.

According to a story from the Holland Sentinel

A beer from Saugatuck Brewing Company, 2948 Blue Star Highway in Douglas, earned a first place award at the 17th annual United States Beer Tasting Championship in August.

The brewery’s ESB/Amber was named tops in the Bitter/ESB category.

More than 120 beers in 11 categories were entered in this year’s competition.

ESB/Amber is a classic medium-bodied British-style Extra Special Bitter with an even balance of six different malts and Goldings, Tettenang and Williamette hops. This beer is one of the brewery’s mainstays and is available on tap and in six-packs.
