A clever re-use of recycled soda bottle resins garnered one Cascade company an automotive innovation award for an eco-friendly auto seat fabric, and the company foresees more opportunities in the sustainable furniture market.

CASCADE TOWNSHIP — Long-time office furniture supplier, InterfaceFabric Inc., is gaining fresh traction for an all-new product: auto seat fabric made from recycled soda bottle resins.

The company, based at 5300 Corporate Grove Drive SE, has gotten an honorable mention for automotive innovation.

The honor, the Premier Automotive Suppliers’ Contribution, or PACE, award, was awarded because the company’s first auto contract is supplying its eco-friendly seat fabric for the 2008 Ford Escape hybrid.
