A three-year slide in enrollment prompted college officials to launch a campus-wide marketing blitz and other creative endeavors to attract students to the college. The result is a 4.2 percent increase in enrollment over last year.

According to excerpts from the story:

Muskegon Community College is celebrating its biggest one-year student enrollment surge in 21 years.

Enrollment at the community college this fall is 4,652 — a 4.2 percent increase over one year ago, said George Maniates, MCC’s associate vice president of student services. There were 4,400 students enrolled last fall.

“We’re really feeling good about it,” Maniates said. “The staff really pulled together. It was a great campus-wide effort.”
