After surviving a major embezzlement fiasco, Catholic Schools in Muskegon County have received a pledge of $5 million from a local couple. If the schools can raise a matching donation.

The Muskegon County Catholic Central Education Foundation has been offered up to $5 million over the next five years from a local couple who want others to match their gift.

The matching-gift challenge of James and Leah Rae Morse of Norton Shores to the Catholic schools is one of the largest local philanthropic gifts in Muskegon County’s history. If the gift is matched, the foundation would be infused with $10 million in the next five years.
