West Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Awards: Breaking Records and Ceilings EVERYWHERE
Once a year, the West Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce gathers at one signature event to honor those who are doing amazing work within our region with an Awards ceremony presented by Ferris State University. With crowds reaching and creating record numbers each year, this third annual event represents the growing Hispanic population of our city.
The awards this year will be handed out in areas of Hispanic Business of the Year, Person of the Year, Most Promising Hispanic Business and the Building Bridges Award with nominees from the fields of hospitality, education, government, law, medicine and many more.
As an added bonus this year, the 2005 California Woman of the Year, Amelia Ceja of Ceja Vineyards, will be the guest speaker.
Ceja is not only an inspiration to hear as she shares her two loves, her husband Pedro and a vineyard purchased from Robert Mondavi. She also proves to be very skilled in the fine art of food and wine pairings, and has created over 100 video blogs on the topic since 2008.
The same year that Ceja won her prestigious Woman of the Year award, the California legislators singled her out for “breaking the glass ceiling in a very competitive business,” as she was the first Mexican-American woman ever to be elected president of a winery.
No matter what your ethnic origin, Ceja has a message about the power of change and the ability in all of us to create a future where everyone is welcome.
Admission: Member $60 / Future Member $75
