Dead-utante Ball – Adult Fun Rebirthed
By last count there are more than 140 festive events all seeking to get your attention this autumn season and the last of them come to a crescendo on Halloween night.
While nearly every bar in Grand Rapids is hosting a blow out affair from the 7th annual Intersection Lounge’s Monster Ball to the The B.O.B.’s Cirque du Scarey, I am most excited for the debut of the Dead-utante Ball – a classy addition to the scene for adults who wish to have a good time without having to compromise their career when the photos emerge on Monday morning’s email tag alert from Facebook.
This Halloween costume ball is building off the re-energized JW Marriott’s Mixology, which is quickly becoming the launch pad for those seeking to kick off their weekend urban exploring with a bit of class.
The night is brought to you by DJ Todd Ernst and Grand Rapids’ Jimmy Le and will hosted by members of the media, including yours truly and our “Madame of the Ball” WXMI Fox 17s very own Emily Richett.
Guests who arrive from 8 to 9 PM will be served a glass of sponsored champagne and will be able to nosh on Chef Andrew Voss’ sushi and other Asian inspired cuisine until 11 PM.
DJ Todd Ernst will provide a Thriller inspired soundscape, promising an atmosphere inspired by Phantom of the Opera meets Eyes Wide Shut, with a little bit of the Rocky Horror Picture Show. The costume contest prizes include a suite for a night at the JW as well as a gift certificate to the Local First inspired cuisine of six.one.six.
Admission: $25 per person / $40 per couple
