It is time to fire up the motorcycle on Sunday for the annual Bikers for Babies fundraiser to benefit the March of Dimes. The event roars back into town for the ninth year as one of the biggest fundraisers of the organization’s chapter. It is the only fundraiser they hold in the state built around the activity of riding cycles, drawing hordes of riders from all over Michigan.
If you are a rider in this unique event, plan on a fantastic ride as you will join other bike enthusiasts on a 70-mile loop around Gun Lake before ending at a huge bash back at the park.
After the ride, riders will mingle with the attendees who will be enjoying Texas Roadhouse BBQ, live music by Blue Star Pilot, performances by the 1096 Stunt Team and unlimited drag racing.
The event is chaired by WMXI Fox 17’s anchor, Christian Frank, who says, “This is the coolest way to save babies and experience a safe ride and fun festival format afterwards.”
While the March of Dimes has much to celebrate in way of advancements in research, medicine and education, one area worth noting is their advocacy efforts where this year they can brag about the fact that 4.1 million more children will have access to health care insurance as a result of the fundraising.
Admission: 9:30 am Registration begins 11:00 am Bikers for Babies begins $20 per rider (pre- registration) $30 per rider (rider + one passenger) $10 Spectator-Only (event day registration) $10 Unlimited Drag Racing (one-time fee, safety requirements apply)
