Creston library renovation given more time

City Commissioners granted developer Greg Gilmore an extension on his plans to rehab the former Creston Library. Gilmore now has until March 2007 to finish transforming the historic building into a new restaurant.

Developer Greg Gilmore will have a little more time to see his plans for the former Creston Library come to fruition.

The Grand Rapids City Commission last week granted Gilmore an extension to his purchase and development agreement with the city. The agreement was developed in 2003 when the city sold the former library to Gilmore.

Gilmore will now have until March 2007 to finish converting the former library at 1431 Plainfield Ave into an eatery.
