If you're in the market for a Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe and have $649,900 on hand, a Grand Rapids entrepreneur has just what you're looking for.
Drew Nelson launched CohesiveLuxury.com last week with a vision of creating a virtual storehouse of hard-to-find luxury items—planes, yachts, luxury autos, upscale vacation destinations, and high-end homes.
The launch focuses on luxury vehicles, with some $11 million in inventory at launch. Nelson will add new product lines every six months.
"I love high-end cars and there wasn't a user-friendly space where people could go and find luxury items in a simple format," Nelson says. "I can go down the street and buy a Honda, but I can't go down the street and buy a Rolls Royce."
Nelson started with nearly 100 vehicles on the site, all of them products of dealers around the U.S. Shoppers can browse through all the vehicles on the site, or can search for specific makes, models, and years. Full color interior and exterior photos get shoppers itching to get behind the wheel, and a detailed description tells them everything they need to know about their dream car.
In addition, shoppers can email questions directly to the seller, and instead of traveling to the dealership, dealers deliver the vehicles directly to the buyer's door.
"The dealers are always looking for ways to get the most bang for their buck and have been very receptive," Nelson adds. "They like the avenue geared toward the luxury market."
Nelson has invested $30,000 into the business so far. He and a sales rep operate from the McKay Tower at 146 Monroe Center.
