Construction wraps up on Medical Mile's $9M Park Row Condos

They broke ground last April, and after weathering delays caused by a rough Michigan winter, developers of Park Row Condos say the first residents will move in by mid-May.

Seventeen of the 33 condos located at Michigan and Union, are sold. Park Row sales manager Joe Rossi says most of the new residents are relocating to Grand Rapids after accepting jobs in the nearby healthcare facilities.

"It's all Medical Mile driven, and it's going to be an interesting community" Rossi says. "We have residents moving here from Germany, India, the Philippines, China, and U.S. cities like Chicago, New York, and L.A."

The remaining condos range from 800-square-foot one-bedroom units to 1,800-square-foot four-bedroom units. Prices run from $150,000 to $300,000. The finishes include hardwood floors in the entryways and kitchens, and granite countertops. One 900-square-foot condo is designated as a space for residents to host parties and family gatherings.

"Four years ago my wife and I were asked to research the potential for the Medical Mile," Rossi says of his second business, Communications & Research. "We chose this section because our research showed it's going to be the cosmopolitan area of town because of the growth. What could be better that to be building in a region that's drawing people in?"
