SW side steel company wraps $2M renovation

This week, Wolverine Construction will put the finishing touches on a brownfield redevelopment project for Steel Supply and Engineering. The project broke ground earlier this year as part of the effort to clean up the contaminated site and expand the steel fabricating facility.

The existing once-6,000-square-foot fabrication plant is now 18,000 square feet and connected to the former Lincoln Brick and Stone building by a 1,100-square-foot employee break and lunch room. The company purchased the Lincoln Brick building in early 2006, intending to connect the 7,500 structure and its 3 acres to their existing site.

With the expansion, Steel Supply hopes to increase their production capacity to include steel stairs, rails, and ladders, Jim Poloncyzk of Armada Group, the parent company, said in an interview with Rapid Growth.
