Rosa Parks SquareRelax @ Rosa
A summer lunchtime concert series in Rosa Parks Square held from 12:00-1:30 p.m. every Thursday. With 20 different artists and 11 different food trucks attending, you’ll definitely be able to find something to suit your taste for lunch.
Movies in the Park
Excellent movies where you’re permitted to BYOB on the banks of the Grand River? Who could say no! The Movies in the park series allows you to enjoy your favorite beverage in Ah-Nab-Awen Park with family and friends. Movies begin at 7:30 with the second showing at 9:30.

It’s pretty simple, enjoy horsepower while hopped up on caffeine provided by Mayan Buzz Cafe on Grandville Ave. With everything from classics to exotic supercars, you’ll wonder if it’s the summer heat or the hot rides making you sweat. With multiple dates you’ll be able to fit it into your busy schedule. Is held on June 9th 7pm-10pm, July 15th 10am-1pm, August 19th 10am-1pm, & September 16th 10am-1pm.
Free Outdoor Exercise
Zumba, yoga and cardio classes to help your body and mind, courtesy of DGRI. Takes place at various locations such as the Blue Bridge and Ah-Nab-Awen Park. You’ll be getting that body ready for the summer beach.

Founders Fest
When the taproom takes to the street, you have Founder’s Fest. Make sure you get your tickets ahead of time! The Festival, held June 17 @ 3:00 PM will feature seven artists performing including Grammy-award winning Blues Traveler and Umphrey’s McGee. The $40 Admission covers your first drink. 21 and older only.
John Ball Park Zoo
Always fun for family and friends, the John Ball Zoo posts its feeding times on their website so you can see your favorite animals at their most active.
Amway Family Fireworks
What is the fourth of july without a fireworks show? See downtown lit up under pyrotechnics and celebrate the birth of our great nation with this dazzling display courtesy of the Amway family. While the official event begins at 5pm at Ah-Nab-Awen Park, you can see the light show from any spot in GR with some open sky. Fireworks begin at 10:30 p.m.
Tuesday night swing dancing at Rosa Parks
The GR Original Swing Society hold the Guinness world record for largest swing dance gathering! If you’re looking to participate or just spectate, the music and movement is fun for all ages! Begins every Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Rosa Park Circle, runs now until June 20th.
Picnic pops
Even those that aren’t fans of classical music can enjoy this concert series. Features covers of such groups as Abba and Chicago. Make sure to check out their other concerts such as Women Rock, and Classical Fireworks as well. This summer the gardens are hosting sculpture by internationally renowned artist and activist Ai Weiwei. Go see the worldwide sensation’s work for yourself, now through August 20th.
GR Asian Festival
With our very first Asian Fest, come celebrate a multitude of cultures that call Grand Rapids their home!
