Have you ever been a newcomer somewhere? Did you feel welcome? Were you able to find your way easily? We'll cover these topics and more with some young professionals new to West Michigan at our January Speaker Series, tonight Thursday, January 9th at UICA.
Rapid Growth continues its discussion with newcomers to Grand Rapids and West Michigan with New In Town: Part II, tonight (January 9th) at UICA.
We'll have a fun and interactive panel discussion with a group of young professionals who moved or returned to the area in the last couple of years.
We'll talk about:
) What brought them here
) What they heard about West Michigan before moving here
) How they've made connections in the area, and ways that the community could do a better job connecting newcomers
) The GR dating scene (for the single panelists)
) What it's like not having kids in a city known for being "a great place to raise a family"
And we'll have some activities that evening to intentionally bring newcomers and native GRapidians together.
