Rose Technologies will now be able to expand its manufacturing capabilities for medical products after earning ISO certification for assembly, packing, and sterilization of medical devices.
According to President Todd Grimm, this new certification opens up a multitude of new opportunities for his firm by dramatically shortening the supply chain for his clients. "It is a new opportunity within the medical device market. Previously we were component manufacturers and now, we can build the entire device, sterilize it, package it, and ship it."
Grimm says the firm had about 12 percent sales growth in 2012 and anticipates 7-10 percent growth in 2013. Although the firm's headcount in 2012 did not grow, Grimm does anticipate adding more jobs in 2013 because of the new certification.
"We should add jobs with a fairly conservative estimate of 7-10 percent growth -- probably 1-2 positions for the assembly floor. But in our industry, it could change quickly with a new contract."
The Grand Rapids-based Rose Technologies specializes in catheter tip forming/molding, silicone catheter wire re-enforcement, pad printing, and device assembly.
