Holland couple become new owners of Velo City Cycles

Brad and Jenny White are the new owners of downtown Holland's Velo City Cycles.

Brad White is entering his seventh season as a professional cyclist for the UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling Team and is a long-time customer of Velo City Cycles. Jenny White is the founder of Moms-in-Tow, an organization that encourages bike riding as a family and community activity.

Brad White says that for existing customers, many of whom are fairly serious cyclists, it will be business as usual with the continuation of weekly rides and a high level of service from the Velo City team.

However, White says they also plan to reach out to other user groups. "We will continue with the ride culture, but want to add more niches such as family, trail riding, fat tire, and fitness. We want to bring more people into the biking community. We carry bikes in all price ranges and we want to become the Holland bike shop for everyone, from the youth to the elderly."

The shop, which employs 5-8 employees depending on the season, will have a three-day open house and sale March 28-30.
