A neighborhood coffee roaster is providing Grand Rapids with more than a fine cup of coffee.
Rowster has added seven positions to their micro-roastery in the past year. What started as a two-person operation now employs nine individuals, and this is just the beginning.
Kurt Stauffer, founder, says their success is two-fold. "Our growth has a lot do with our fiscal responsibility and discipline to the bottom line. We reinvested everything back into the business. The other part is we created a world class product and have become part of the fabric of Grand Rapids and Wealthy Street."
Future growth opportunities are plentiful. Whether it is a new product line (like a soon to be released line of teas), longer hours or a second location, Stauffer and his team are evaluating different strategies. "We have a couple of things in place and when the right the opportunity comes, we will be able to move quickly," he says.
