The approval of a $350,000 incentive from the Michigan Business Development program will allow
Lacks Enterprises to expand and potentially add up to 120 jobs in the next year.
According to Susan Jackson, senior business development manager at the The Right Place, Lacks had other options to build outside of Michigan, but worked with the Right Place and MEDC to secure the incentive.
The funding will serve as a catalyst for the $31.9 million dollar construction of a new manufacturing and warehouse space in Cascade Charter Township.
Besides the jobs created by the expansion, Jackson points out significant indirect benefits. "We are excited that a manufacturing company is going to build in West Michigan. Hiring will begin in the end of 2012 and into 2013. There are also many indirect jobs created in construction and spin off construction jobs," says Jackson.
