The Grilling Company is a local, family-owned business founded and operated by Keith Hall in 2012.
The Grilling Company specializes in providing a wide variety of grilled and smoked meats. Hall says core values include traditional preparation and fresh ingredients.
"Everything is made from scratch," he says. "We smoke with apple wood. Our wraps are made with veggies roasted on the grill. I make my own mustards, horseradish sauce, and everything else. I don't buy it and dump it in containers."
Hall says he started The Grilling Company after he decided to turn a hobby into a business. "The first house we bought had a gas grill and I really enjoyed grilling. Then I went to a charcoal grill, then smoking. This soon turned into more than hobby."
Hall says his business and personal experiences frame much of where he is taking The Grilling Company. These past experiences include owning multiple businesses, working in a butcher shop, growing up on a family farm, and learning to process deer, render lard, and make sausage.
Moving forward, Hall is working at the product center at Michigan State University to launch a line of barbecue sauces and mustards. He also dabbles in building custom grills and smokers for both residential and commercial use. "I do everything myself," he says. "Nothing holds me back when I know how to do everything."
