Hope Network recently announced two new additions to its leadership team. According to Dan Gowdy, VP of marketing and transportation services, the new positions reflect an ongoing restructuring and alignment at Hope Network. "We are responding to the environment," says Gowdy, who identifies the Affordable Care Act and the ongoing evolution of the medical home model that is transforming the industry.
Gowdy says he is witnessing the most dramatic changes in the industry in his 20 years at the Hope Network. "Patients are being being moved out of large, state-run institutions -- which are being shut down -- and are now living in the community and succeeding. But it takes a great deal of care and compassion."
To support these changes, Hope Network has added Ron Schutt, executive VP of development and external relations, and Lona McLincha, VP of talent management.
"One of out four individuals will be touched by mental illness," says Gowdy, who feels that the internal restructuring at Hope Network will allow the organization to take a much broader and more holistic approach to managing health care systems and, hopefully, bring new ideas to the healthcare business model.
Hope Network provides services in 240 plus communities to more than 23,000 people annually throughout Michigan and employs 2,700. For more information, you can visit their site
