Citing an increase in the acceptance of hospice services on a national level as well as a successful local advertising campaign, Susan Hertel, HR director of the community-based
Harbor Hospice, says the organization has needed to add jobs due to the demand for their services.
"We recently added one full-time nurse and also have opportunities for nurses and nurses' aides on an as-needed basis," says Hertel.
Choosing to work in a hospice setting tends to be "self selecting," Hertel says, explaining it's a good fit for someone looking for a "purpose driven career, similar to nurses who help deliver babies." Hertel adds, "Our culture is very patient-oriented. It is honor to be with the patients."
Hertel says the organization is always accepting applications for nurses and nursing aides. To learn more about Harbor Hospice, you can visit their site
