Camille Metzger, aka Lady Camille, is the owner, founder and creative force behind
Blue Marble Threads, a professional seamstress business that provides services ranging from custom design to vintage restoration.
Blue Marble Threads began eight years ago as a home-based business for Metzger, but with the demand for her services steadily increasing, she needed more space and moved to the
Steepletown Community Center in the spring of 2011.
Besides providing full-time employment for Metzger, the firm also is also a source for several sub-contractors to work as the business grows, which is something that Lady Camille hopes to build upon in the near future.
"We are bursting at the seams. As much as I love Steepletown, I am anticipating moving to a larger location in the next year. My plan is to develop a dream team of professional seamstresses to create a one-stop business," says Metzger.
Metzger is also a long-time advocate for sustainable business practices. "Blue Marble Threads is a zero-waste business. All scraps are repurposed into new products and larger pieces of fabric are donated to the Baxter Community Center for their quilters group."
Besides the seamstress services, Blue Marble Threads also offers a range of classes for those interested in the fiber arts. To learn more about the business, you can visit their website
