Family owned and operated,
Sweet Yo's, a specialty frozen yogurt establishment that recently opened up in Gaslight Village, has something for everyone. Literally.
"We cater to everyone, health or craving conscious," says Rosa Piccione who founded the establishment along with her brother Mario. "We have non-dairy flavors for vegans and non-sugar flavors for individuals with those diet restrictions." Piccione adds that there are plenty of options for those not concerned with caloric intake, too.
Piccione, a serial entrepreneur (
Rosa's Closet and
Lia Rose), first encountered this type of establishment in Florida. "I love this community and when I found the concept in Florida, I knew this would catch on, so we decided to bring it here," she says.
Piccione describes the customer experience a three-step process plus multiple options. "The concept is self-serve. You walk in, pick the flavor, pick the toppings and then pick the price, which is determined by the amount of yogurt and toppings used. All the fruits are cut fresh throughout the day. We currently feature 50 toppings and 12 flavors of yogurt. We also custom create flavors in the house."
The store is currently managed by Piccione and her brother and has 10 part-time employees. "I just knew this concept would work and we have a lot of positive feedback, so we are already considering other locations," she says.
