MP Talent Group, profiled in Rapid Growth last March, has gone through a significant learning curve in the last six months and is in the process of pivoting from their original business model.
Malinda Petersen, founder of the of agency, says, "We have made some big changes just in the last few weeks. Shaun Ramsey Griffin is now Chief of Sales and Booking, and Emily Johnston is the Booking Manager. I am transitioning out of day-to-day operations."
Petersen explains that the changes in her agency are a result of market forces and good business. "In October, we released the actors from their contracts and have moved to strictly handling a boutique roster of Michigan-based performance artists." According to Petersen, the changes are all about adapting to the market. "Most of the work for our actors is derived from area production companies and not the film industry, as many people assume."
With a new business model in place that focuses on Michigan-based talent, Petersen is confident that the reputation of MP Talent Group as well as additional staff will drive the business forward. "My intention is that Shaun and Emily will continue to grow the MP Talent brand in further markets and be a reliable source for presenting venues to find performance artists who practice their craft."
