Zeeland-based wholesale food ingredient distributor,
Bremer Authentic Ingredients, is similar to many mid-sized West Michigan businesses. They are an industry leader -- modern, efficient and very few people outside of their industry know much about them.
But that will be changing, thanks to not only a rebranding effort resulting in a new name, logo and website, but perhaps most significantly, becoming one of the first wholesalers awarded the Safe Quality Food (SQF) 2000 Level 3 Certification by the Safe Quality Food Institute (SQFI).
According to Tim Malefyt, Bremer GM, "Big retailers now expect that certification from their suppliers." The new certification "should help us competitively," Mayefyt adds. "Most companies will have to move in this direction, but this puts us ahead of the curve. Our customers are waiting for this."
With the the brand freshened and certification in place, Malefyt says his company is now looking to expand. Its first step is expansion to the east side of the state. They are currently is looking to hire a sales representative to cover that region.
