New consulting firm focuses on growth and brings an outsider's perspective to West Michigan

Nicole Meloche, president and founder of Organik Consulting, has come full circle. Originally from Marquette, MI ("I'm a Yooper," she says), Meloche moved to the West Coast, earning her MBA from UCLA. She consulted and worked in the quick-paced, high-growth technology sector for several years before deciding to return to the Midwest.

With the move to Grand Rapids, Meloche will be continuing her consulting business and is positioning her West Michigan firm to focus on "growth marketing." This involves helping her clients apply technology to the marketing process, especially in identifying new revenue streams and helping businesses acquire new customers.

With her West Coast pedigree, Meloche hopes to be able to infuse new ideas with an outsider's perspective, but she is also quick to point out that the tech scene in the region is already very robust. "I was surprised at technology scene here. I found it very interesting that social media is so big. The technologies are used here more than [on the] West Coast."

As she builds her client base, Meloche is also busy networking in the area, identifying a trusted base of independent contractors, especially in the design industry.

Meloche is very optimistic about the opportunities in Grand Rapids, one of several Midwestern cities she researched before deciding to locate her business here. "There is not another opportunity like Grand Rapids within Michigan," she says, citing the growth, spirit and great talent as key attributes to the business culture.
