Grand Rapids-based technology firm
Open Systems Technology (OST) continues to grow in 2011, adding 35 tech-centric jobs in the past 12 months.
The driving force for these new jobs has been growth, both inside the region and increasingly outside the area, as OST's reputation for technology services and products is providing more opportunities to bid on jobs.
"We continually prove ourselves against Fortune 500 companies," says Mike Lomonaco, marketing director at OST. He characterizes this competition as an ongoing "David vs. Goliath" battle -- a relatively small firm successfully competing against much larger national firms.
According to Lomonaco, another factor in the growth of OST is the increased awareness in the extended business community that West Michigan is home to many talented tech firms. Lomonaco says a trademark of the area is "practical innovation," a blend of talent, creativity, innovation and West Michigan conservative business values and work ethic.
