Alejandro Quiroga, MD, has joined the Spectrum Health Medical Group, bringing expertise in treating infants and children with a wide variety of kidney issues.
According to the press release from Spectrum Health, Dr. Quiroga is board certified in pediatrics. He earned his medical degree from Colegio Mayor de Nuestra Senora del Rosario in Bogota, Colombia. Dr. Quiroga completed a pediatric residency at Miami Children's Hospital and a pediatric nephrology fellowship at The Children's Hospital at Montefiore in New York City.
For Dr. Quirogo, the decision to move to Grand Rapids and join the Spectrum team was heavily influenced by his first impressions of the hospital, the staff and the career opportunities.
"I've been to many children's hospitals from medical school to my residency," say Dr. Quirogo, who adds that Spectrum "was the most compelling opportunity" in terms of quality of the facility, the mission, the staff and the growth potential."To use a business analogy, I am buying low."
