Global Forex Trading, a leading online trading firm based in Ada, MI, recently expanded its portfolio of services to include global futures trading, enabling customers to trade on a wide variety of futures markets worldwide, including electronics, energy, interest rates, and metals.
Futures trading allows traders to buy or sell certain commodities and financial instruments at a specific date in the future at a specified price.
That's good news for the company's online traders, and the West Michigan job scene. To accommodate the new service, and an expanding client base, GFT established a new company, GFT Futures, and generated 10 new jobs in the last four months. The business expects to add as many as 10 more in 2008.
"We've added people in accounting, compliance, marketing, the futures trading desk, and other departments," says Kelly Quintanilla, company spokesperson. "The new jobs in 2008 will most likely be for our futures trading desk and sales."
The November announcement of the new trading opportunities triggered a wave of interest, according to Quintanilla, who expects the company to release the new futures trading software shortly. In the meantime, she says, interested traders can download the demo version from the GFT Futures web site.
