After serving 35 years in public education, teacher Cynthia Novak recently opened Potentia, an innovative learning center that helps students of all ages - elementary, high school, and college kids as well as senior citizens and business leaders - develop their memory, attention, information processing, and communication skills.
Since the 1990's, scientists have made numerous groundbreaking discoveries about the brain, how it works, as well as its unique ability to reprogram itself and expand its capacity for new information. Scientists refer to this ability as 'neuroplasticity' or 'brain plasticity.'
Potentia embraces this cutting edge science, and strives to stimulate the brain with special excersises that help enhance problem-solving, creative thinking, memory, and organization skills. The method, based on innovative computer software, can also improve the participants ability to read, write, speak, and listen.
The new business is located at 1100 East Paris, between Cascade Road and Lake Drive.
