A new upscale hotel will soon be erected on the southeast corner of Seventh Street and College Avenue in Holland that company leaders hope will be a nationwide model.
It will be the first in what the projects creators
Charter House Innovations hope to be a national model says Chuck Reid, president of the company.
Described by the company as “boutique-style” hotel, the L-shaped, 50-room building is set to include a ground-floor restaurant, retail space, and rooftop bar. The $150-a-night rooms will feature flat screen televisions, cordless phones and iPod docks.
“We have the ability to make each room different, and that is exactly what we plan on doing,” says Reid, who says each will have different furnishings.
The 100-employee company creates "innovative, inviting, and lasting dining environments for the food service industry." Company leaders hope that this new project will expand nationwide as a franchise. Kirk D. Koeman, the director of new account development, says that starting this venture seemed a logical move.
“We’re based out of Holland, and we hoped to bring and create new development within the city,” says Koeman. “The city has its own budding downtown and nightlife, and we wanted on the ground floor.”
Charter House hopes to begin building in February of next year, with plans to complete the hotel by early 2008.
