DAAC seeking interns

The Division Avenue Arts Cooperative is seeking out an intern for the upcoming winter semester.

The DAAC, a nonprofit art gallery and music venue located in the downtown Heartside District, worked with Grand Valley State University’s School of Nonprofit Administration to figure out what was necessary to offer this opportunity to students.

“Interning at the DAAC would be helpful for anyone who is looking to challenge themselves to grow into a position of organizing in the Arts/music community. It would be a great internship for someone looking to gain experience booking musical shows,” says Jennifer Schaub, who is on the cooperative’s board of directors.

According to Schaub, the internship would consist of helping with administrative tasks, booking shows, working with bands and artists, and would be great for anyone who "may want to gain experience with the administrative end of an upstart organization."

The DAAC, which opened its doors in 2003, is a place for local artists and musicians (as well as lesser-known touring acts) to showcase their acts. According to their website, they “believe that art and music stimulate the community. By collaborating with local artists and musicians, a gathering point for community growth is created.”
