A New York Times Best Selling author saw some media created by two Grand Rapids guys and asked them to create for him a multimedia product unlike anything on the market. They bit. Now the product is this close to being featured on Oprah.
Brett Van Til and Santino Stoner are two of the four partners in the newly formed Dot&Cross at 7 Ionia Ave. SW in downtown Grand Rapids. The pair have collaborated on projects for eight years, and bringing that relationship to the company helped Dot&Cross to come up with ideas for a truly new concept integrating a book, DVD and reMEMO Pad for bestselling author Marcus Buckingham’s fifth book.
The result? A totally new way for consumers to engage with a self-help message that challenges them to direct their career paths toward their strengths and interests, and not just toward financial security.
The Truth About You: Your Secret to Success hit bookstore shelves September 30.
The toolkit is a synergistic whole — watch the film to connect with the story, read the book to reinforce Buckingham’s teachings, and use the reMEMO Pad to make it all work in your life.
“It sits on a shelf like a book,” says Van Til. “You pull out the DVD and watch that, then go into the book experience, and then use the reMEMO pad to write down what activities engage you that day, and you direct your day toward those strengths ... Marcus wanted to further his message within a larger audience, and we were able to create a memorable experience for the viewer.”
“We don’t think there’s been a product that integrates everything seamlessly for lasting, positive, cultural impact,” adds Stoner.
