Ada-based Global Forex Trading (GFT) announced this week that the company qualified for Deloitte's Technology Fast 500 for the third consecutive year, weighing in at number 305 of the country's fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications, and life sciences companies.
Rankings are based on a five-year revenue growth percentage from 2002 to 2006, a time when GFT logged 506 percent growth. Only four Michigan companies made the list; GFT had the highest revenue of the four, and the highest revenue of all the forex companies in the rankings.
GFT specializes in online foreign exchange, or currency, trading and offers 120 currency pairs. Of its 200 employees, 115 are in Ada. The rest are located in Chicago, New York, London, Tokyo, and Sydney.
"We are growing like crazy," says Kelly Quintanilla, company spokesperson. "Earlier this year, we had eight people in the marketing department. Now we have grown to over 20."
Quintanilla says she expects the company to create some 20 jobs at the Ada facility in 2008, including sales and forex specialists, marketing, customer services, technical support, information technology, dealing, training and education, accounting, and compliance.
GFT ended 2006 with revenues of nearly $85 million. Company leaders project this year's revenue will reach $120 million.
