Founders Brewing will receive $406,825 in Brownfield Redevelopment tax captures for the redevelopment of property in downtown Grand Rapids, according to a recent announcement by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. The owners project that the $4 million project will retain 21 jobs, and generate about 16 more.
“This Brownfield project will help create a new center of economic growth, and draw new investments to Grand Rapids—one of Michigan’s great cities,” Governor Jennifer Granholm said. “Helping our urban centers revitalize vacant eyesores into hubs of commercial activity is an important part of our plan to grow the economy and create jobs in Michigan.”
The same day, the governor announced six other Brownfield projects she expects to establish or retain 2,868 jobs across the state.
Founders will move from its current location on North Monroe to a renovated warehouse at 235 Grandville when work there is completed.
