Hoping to capitalize on the growing demand for alternative fuel sources, a new Holland-based startup called Fahrenheit Technologies is developing and selling corn-burning furnaces for residential use.
With four engineers on staff, the company hopes to evolve the furnace and ultimately invent a unit that can run on wood pellets, cherry pits, oats, and various grasses.
"Our ultimate goal is to have a furnace that would burn any biofuel that would be produced," sales engineer Mark Graham told the Business Review. "People are trying to pelletize anything they can get their hands on and burn it."
