Whitehall manufacturer expands, adds 50 jobs

Alcoa Howmet Castings, a major manufacturer of parts for commercial and military jet engines, announced a $23 million expansion that is expected to generate 50 jobs in Whitehall, illustrating that specific segments of West Michigan’s manufacturing industry remain a strong, growing, and vital component of the region’s modern economy. 

“The combination of a booming market for jet engine components and growing customer demand for aerospace products has driven the need for increased manufacturing capacity,” Mike Pepper, vice president and general manager of Alcoa Howmet, told the Muskegon Chronicle. “Our Whitehall operation remains critical to the company’s aerospace business and is positioned for further growth.”
