Rockford adds employees, completes projects

Rockford Construction recently hired two full-time employees into the accounting department: Chris Norton and Gretchen Stobert.

Norton was previously employed with consulting firm Plante & Moran, and Stobert brings over five years experience in project coordination and account management.

Jason Wheeler, the company’s marketing director, says that the organization fluctuates around the 200-employee mark. He says that their financial figures were consistent with their strategic plan and year-end goals, and that the addition of these new employees was in an effort to help close out year-end work and get 2007 client work handled.

Rockford Construction Company was founded in 1987 by John Wheeler and Michael VanGessel for general construction and construction management.

Today, Rockford Companies includes Rockford Construction Company and Rockford Development Group. Known simply as Rockford, the Grand Rapids company has offices in Traverse City and Dallas. Rockford is currently building facilities in 18 states throughout the Midwest. It is one of the largest construction companies in the state.

The company recently completed building a Bono's Bar-BQ Pit in Allendale and the LEED certified Girl Scouts of Michigan Trails Anna Behrens Sherwood Lodge near Greenville.
