Siemens Water Technologies Corporation has announced plans to add 80 new jobs to its Holland facility and invest almost $3 million. The facility makes machines that separate solids from liquids in industrial and municipal wastewater treatment facilities. Both engineering and manufacturing positions are being added.
The state granted the company a Single Business Tax credit valued at $1.1 million along with a $40,000 Economic Development Job Training grant to convince the company to expand in Michigan instead of a competing site in Georgia.
Holland Township has proposed a 12-year tax abatement valued at approximately $327,000 to support the project. The company currently employs 130 workers in Holland.
Siemens Water Technologies is a subsidiary of high-tech electronic company Siemens AG, which bought USFilter two years ago, breaking into the water purification field. The company employs 3,400 in Michigan.
