Life science innovators showcase new technologies

Approximately 40 companies from across Michigan participated in an annual products showcase sponsored by the West Michigan Science and Technology Initiative, a GR-based organization that promotes local med tech businesses.

The showcase is a public forum where pharmaceutical companies, medical devices makers, and other life science related companies can display their products and services. The showcase is an increasingly popular event, reflecting the growth and innovation occuring in the state's biotech sector.

"The first year we had about 12 exhibitors, and the second year we had 20," Kim Bode, marketing director for the WMSTI, told the Grand Rapids Press.
