Grand Haven technology company launches market's first wireless light control system

Cutting energy costs can make any business more profitable, and a breakthrough wireless light and security control system that will hit the market next month claims a 30 to 60 percent cost savings. This technology puts one Grand Haven manufacturer out in front of its national competitors.

According to excerpts from the story:

Light Corp. is betting its new Intu system will put the company light years ahead of the competition -- and eventually eclipse its $36 million annual light fixture business.

Next month, the Grand Haven company is launching a system that can determine if a building interior needs more or less light and automatically make adjustments.

Sensors, nodes and radio frequency are used to create a technology blanket to control functions ranging from lighting to security.

The advantage is more than convenience. The system can cut energy costs an estimated 30 to 60 percent and reduce the expense to retrofit a building because less hardwiring is needed.
