Cast your ballots online for your favorite corporate citizens that you think add to the quality of life in their locales. Using our handy widget, you can vote for neighborhood businesses both large and small as your candidates to receive People’s Choice awards in 13 categories.
If you’ve ever passed by your favorite local restaurant or boutique and thought it should win an award for a clever window display or smart-looking facade, now’s your chance to give that business your vote of appreciation.
And it only takes a minute to use our widget to cast your ballot.
A total of 90 businesses ranging from your neighborhood diner to a hospital center are vying to win the People’s Choice awards sponsored by the Neighborhood Business Alliance and Neighborhood Ventures in 13 categories. By using “Next” button on the widget, you can easily scroll through the categories and vote for the businesses you think deserve special recognition for taking pride in their locations.
Voting starts today and runs through midnight October 31 when Rapid Growth will shut down the widget and compile the ballots. One vote per category, please. The winners of the People’s Choice awards will be named at an awards ceremony to be held Thursday, Nov. 5 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Wealthy Theatre, 1130 Wealthy St SE.
The categories for People’s Choice are 2009 Green Award, Best Business Exterior, Best Exterior Renovation, Best Interior Renovation, Best Longstanding Business, Best Neighborhood Restaurant, Best New Business, Best New Construction – Large Project, Best New Construction – Small Project, Best Promotion, Best Reuse of a Building, Best Window Display, and Best Non-Profit Project. Rapid Growth has highlighted several contenders for the awards during the past few weeks, but you are encouraged to become acquainted with all the nominees.
