Gala 2020: Debut of the new … and with benefits

Friday, Feb. 7, 7 p.m. - Midnight
Grand Rapids Public Museum, 272 Pearl St. NW
With every passing year, there are more and more gala events to consider attending in West Michigan.

From nostalgia-infused affairs to fresh-air-focussed outdoor parties, the galas of our region, above all else, have created a space where a reflection of our community’s heart can emerge.

Gala 2020, a new fundraising event debuting on Feb. 7 at the Grand Rapid Public Museum, is an opportunity for area small and big businesses, as well as locals and visitors, to mix and mingle together while enjoying locally sourced drinks and stellar beats that propel us over time.

This debut event is truly a celebration of each of us, who are in our own way, and how we are helping shape the future of Grand Rapids, all the while supporting our Friends of Grand Rapids Parks - Gala 2020’s nonprofit beneficiary.

Gala 2020 is a first-time collaboration for local entrepreneurs Adrian Butler (also known as AB) and Jonathan Jelks

AB has become an ambassador for the city, ushering in a tireless entrepreneurial style rooted in his creative practice that passes seamlessly through music, fashion, art, and the people of this city. For years, AB has creatively pushed against boundaries and unified Grand Rapidians of all backgrounds, from his early work with the band AB and Coconut Brown, to his popular fashion line.

Jonathan Jelks is a serial entrepreneur with deep familial roots from within Grand Rapids' southeast side. Jelks uses business development as a tool to empower our neighborhoods and to combat social inequities by creating opportunities. Jelks is the co-founder/principal in several ventures including Ambiance GR Kitchen & Lounge, Motu Viget Spirits, The Midwest Tech Project, and GR USA.

We, at Rapid Growth, as a proud sponsor of Gala 2020, enjoy that the organizers have selected the Grand Rapids Public Museum to host its debut. Tickets and VIP packages can be secured here

For not only is a public museum a place where our connections to the past can be observed, but Gala 2020 attendees are also on display, too, as reflected through the display glass. Gala 2020’s debut is a chance to see firsthand the change happening here in West Michigan. And this is something we can all agree is worth celebrating.
