White Lake cleanup moves closer to completing delisting requirements

Cleaning up the Great Lakes depends on cleaning up the tributaries and surrounding waters. As one lake nears completion of remediation efforts, the cleanup of groundwater contamination becomes the focus.

After over 20 years of being listed as an Area of Concern (AoC) White Lake is moving closer to being removed from that list.

This year, the PAC and DEQ met to address the remaining three impairments, among them groundwater quality. And that issue is where the two organizations disagree.
