Cummings: Grand Rapids getting close to “the prize”

Local developer Sam Cummings of Second Story Properties tells International Council of Shopping Centers about seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. His years of working to make downtown Grand Rapids a livable and desirable place is now paying off.

“For decades we have been working to bring residential downtown and make the downtown a vibrant place to live, and little by little it has been working,” said Cummings. “Now the prize is in sight for Grand Rapids — a downtown that is alive 24/7.” Cummings complimented city officials for their diligent work in helping firms like his secure and redevelop these historic sites. He also had high praise for all the developers who have been willing to make a commitment to the revitalization of Grand Rapids’ core city.
