Midwest Fest 2010 – Putting the Move on Grand Rapids

Friday - Sunday, May 21 - 23, See Website for complete list of concerts
After two years in Mount Pleasant, the Midwest Fest decided it was time to move the festival, and lucky for us they have selected Grand Rapids as its new home.

Grand Rapids for years has been building on its credibility as a city that not only supports, but also celebrates local music.

This year the Midwest Fest will once again bring musical acts from Michigan, Illinois, Ohio, Indiana, Iowa and Wisconsin to perform in a jam back, three-day event.

"In keeping with the tradition of the still relatively young festival, we have nightly headliners who are national touring acts who just so happen to be from the Midwest surrounded by a supporting cast of regional acts," event founder Corey Densmore says.

This year's headliners are Casiotone For the Painfully Alone (Chicago), Maritime (Milwaukee), Sybris (Chicago), Wet Hair (Iowa City), The Hard Lessons (Detroit) and Child Bite (Detroit).

Not only are we gaining a new festival, but a portion of the profits from the Midwest Fest ticket sales will be donated to the Litribune this year to help them achieve its goal of opening a Creative Youth Center in Grand Rapids.

Advanced tickets may be purchased on line or by visiting these area businesses: Founder's Brewery, Vertigo Records or The Sparrows Café.

Admission: $10 per day, or $25 for the entire festival.
