Since Relax at Rosa debuted downtown, people who venture to Rosa Parks Circle have experienced a wonderful range of local musicians who have taken to this outdoor stage to entertain folks who are enjoying their lunch hour or just want to see a concert outside of a bar or club.
And while the popular annual music series has delighted the ears of those who venture to listen, starting on October 3 and every Thursday after until October 24, Relax at Rosa will engage your eyes as Dance in the Annex (DITA) will be debuting a fresh new contemporary dance series titled, “
A Women's Place is on the Roof: Part I - IV."
However, instead of being performed on the stage at Rosa Parks Circle, this new work, which has been in rehearsals at ArtPrize’s Project 1 space at MLK Park, will be performed on the art installation “Oracle of the Soulmates” by Heather Hart.
Each Thursday this free presentation from DITA will include a noon and a 1 p.m. performance. Pack a lunch or just order something from any one of the many food trucks that will be there each Thursday. Just do not miss this unique opportunity to see DITA live and in a totally fresh presentation space that come November will be gone … like our warm weather.
