The new Listening Room at Studio Park is drawing rave reviews from all who’ve ventured downtown to this brand new music venue in Grand Rapids.
And on Sunday is yet again another reason to make the journey to experience some amazing singer/songwriters of our community that has been lovingly curated by J Oscar Bittinger for the return of A Winter’s Tune Rebooted.
It is hard to believe it has been seven years since Oscar hosted this annual event (and previously at East Hill’s Wealthy Theatre).
For the 2019 artist lineup, Oscar has assembled an inspiring list of guest performers who will take the Listening Room stage in solo as well as group performances. This holiday-themed live music program will begin at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 15 with doors opening at the venue at 12:30 p.m.
Scheduled to perform in 2019 are:
- Lexi Adams
- J Oscar Bittinger
- Ralston Bowles
- Robin Connell
- The Folk Bros (Steve Aldrich, Bruce Zeeuw, J Oscar)
- Hannah Rose Graves
- OctoberDay (Mark Hugger & Chris Ranney)
- Kyle Rasche
- Josh Rose
- John Sanger
- The Far Shore (Brant Satala & Bex)
- Justin “Stovepipe” Stover
According to the Listening Room’s press notice, “J Oscar Bittinger carries a beat guitar case full of stories. They’ve been collected in travel, borrowed from strangers, picked up off the floors of barrooms and bedrooms, fished from friends and made up from real life. The stories get woven into songs that take the shape of folk, rock, Irish and pop music. Sometimes they sound like poems, sometimes like fables, some may require a tissue and others might make you want to dance. Thoughtful or fun, they sound the best when you sing along.”
I personally have seen many of these annual holiday shows and must say they truly help you get in the holiday spirit while also feeling quite proud that our city still continues to welcome so much incredible musical talent to this region of the state.
Advance tickets may be purchased
here or at the Listening Room door (provided they are still available).
